Life Choices
In a world where wealth often defines status, rich people often have a way of making those who don’t have much feel embarrassed about being poor. Because of this, some people end up spending money they don't have just to put on a short show of looking rich. They buy things they can’t really afford, not because they need them, but because they want to look like they belong in the world of the wealthy, even if it’s only for a moment.
A lot of people want the good things they see others enjoying, and they don’t really care how they get them. There are right ways to get those things and there are other ways (the bad ones). But many people only focus on the shortcut, the bad way. They call it “doing what you have to do to survive,” but they don’t realize that this path causes more harm than good. It might look easy at first, but in the end, it destroys more than it builds.
People tend to judge others that are not taking this "short cuts", because they refuse to do what everyone else is doing. And somehow, it feels like that’s their “crime”. Life is all about making choices and I suggest you try your best to make the right ones and learn from the times you get it wrong. Choices can be hard and sometimes lonely. The goal isn’t perfection but wisdom to make the right choices when you can, and to learn from the wrong ones when you must.
True wealth is not measured by money or luxury, it is found in the peace of mind that comes from knowing that you have nothing to hide and no hidden consequences to fear. That kind of freedom is a richness no amount of money can ever buy.
